Fort Picton in Laventille was built by  British Governor Thomas Picton on the 18th of November 1798  to protect Port of Spain from the French and Spanish. 

Observatory Street  - The First Line of Longitude (Meridian) in the new world was made in 1783 by Don Churruca in a Laventille lab renamed Fort Chacon. 

Banwari Site is the oldest known archaeological evidence of Human Beings settling in the Caribbean dating too far back as 7900 BC.

The coat of arms of T&T  was designed in 1962 by a committee. The committee included artist Carlisle Chang and carnival designer George Bailey.  

T&T Rights To Vote - On 1 July 1946 the First Election featuring universal adult suffrage was held in T&T. Eligibility went from ~ 30,000 to 259,000 voters. 

The T&T Gulf of Paria was first called The Gulf of Whales and is considered to be one of the Best Natural Harbour on the Atlantic coast of the Americas.
