Cheese Roll 2.1 is out now!
When you die in Cheese Jump, you are given a pop-up that tells you that you died, your platform/jump ratio, and gives you a button that says "OK" to retry. [P1]
If you are cheating, the score will be replaced with the word "Cheater". In reverse mode, your score is negative.
History: Death was added in Basic Doodle Jump (modified) by Ian and his dad. Score was also added in Basic Doodle Jump (modified) by Ian and Seth, along with the death message [P5].
In Less Basic Doodle Jump, the death message was updated to what it says today, and the bug was fixed where you couldn't restart the game very easily.
In Beta version 1.1.4, cheat detection was added.
Later, it was changed so that the score was only given to you after you died. This was intentional and created a sense of suspense when you were playing because you didn't know your score.
When you died, you were given this message [P2]:
"This page says
Your score is:____
Do you wish to retry?
We will restart anyway ;)"
You were given two options: "OK" and "Cancel". If you pressed"OK", it refreshed the page, restarting the game, and if you pressed "Cancel", it would prompt [P3]:
"This page says
r u dum¿"
You were then, again, given two options: "OK" and "Cancel". If you pressed "Cancel", it would restart the game, but if you pressed "OK", it would prompt [P4]:
"This page says
L"
If you pressed "OK", it would refresh the page, but it didn't get rid of the message, so you would have to close and re-open the game. It also added d=true to the link, so if you copied and pasted it somewhere, you would still be stuck on the message.
In gamma, the button was simplified to what it is now.
