In 2026 BSA Troop 7380 registered as a Family Troop so boys and girls can meet in the same place, every Monday from 7:00-8:15 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
In October we are planning a kick off where we will organize a Girl's Patrol!
Every week there will be an Opening Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. where Scouts are the Color Guard to present the flags and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath, Scout Law and the Outdoor Code.
Throughout the meeting there will be time for sharing, listening to instructions, and breaking into small groups. Scouts will play a game or complete a challenge every week.
The meeting will close at 8:15 p.m. The closing ceremony includes announcements, Scoutmaster's Minute, and Closing Flag Ceremony.
At our initial meeting in October, the female Scouts will get to know each other and collaboratively select a unique name, patrol patch, and yell. We will create a sense of team for our small group. We can order custom emblems or emblems from the Scout Shop for our uniforms depending on what the Scouts choose.
Scouts will use the Patrol Method where they elect a female Patrol Leader to encourage teamwork and leadership for our small group and report to the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL). The SPL leads the entire Troop, while our Patrol Leader will focus on our small group's success.
Our Troop is "Scout-led" which means Scouts, not adults, make decisions, plan activities, and lead meetings, fostering leadership and character development. Adults act as mentors or coaches, supporting from the background and ensuring safety, rather than managing, while allowing for mistakes as part of the learning process.
A trained female Assistant Scoutmaster will be present at every gathering with at least one additional Adult Leader.
Patrol Leaders will determine what activities we would like to do depending on Scouts' interests. We will ideally do activities that will help us advance through the Ranks of Scouting. We will plan to go camping every month from October-May. We will also plan to go to a BSA Summer Camp for a week. All activities are optional. Just come to what works for your family. Troop 7380 already has some plans where girls are welcome:
Nov 7 & 14 Scouting for Food Service Project 9-11 am
Nov 20-22 Webelos Woods (Local Cub Scout Campout where we can recruit 4th and 5th Grade Cub Scouts)
Dec 30-Jan 3 Ski/Snowboard Trip to North Carolina (We will stay in a cabin at https://brccenter.org/accommodation/cabins/ and rent ski clothes and ski at https://appskimtn.com/)
