Pop up Nativity Sunday 10th December
This year's Nativity on Sunday 10th December will be a POP UP NATIVITY, rather than a rehearsed performance of the Nativity by the Sunday School children. This is quite a modern telling of the story, produced by the Bible Society who provide a script and power point of pictures to accompany it. No rehearsal necessary! The idea is to encourage everyone who wants to to be involved, adults and children. We invite you and your children to come dressed as your favourite character from the Christmas Story and be ready to "pop up" at the appropriate time; it doesn't matter if we have ten Marys or only one, any number of any character is fine! The story will be interspersed with favourite carols and there will be various moments when you can join in the telling, sometimes with words, sometimes with actions..
As you know, there are some costumes at church if you can't find anything else suitable. These can be available after Sunday School/W2 on Sunday 26th November if your child(ren) would like to choose one.
Do hope you can come! Friends, wider family and neighbours are very welcome too.
Friends of Kent Churches Ride and Stride
Saturday, 9th September
Last year the Ride & Stride raised a magnificent £137,000 to help maintain church buildings. Why not take part this year and help to exceed that amount?? By cycling or running around Kent churches, you can raise money to be divided equally between the Friends of Kent Churches and the church of your choice. Sponsorship forms are available from Gill Martin. If that sounds rather too energetic, but you would like to help, you could volunteer to sit in the Parish Room for an hour or two to sign in visiting cyclists and walkers, (let Gill 01580 713121 know) and, of course, you could always sponsor someone!
