Fare Share

Who are Fare Share?

FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. They take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to more than 10,500 frontline charities and community groups.

What does Fare Share do?

The food Fare Share redistributes is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week Fare Share provides enough food to create almost a million meals.

Fare Share at Trinant Primary:

Every Friday during term time, Fare Share delivers quality surplus food that consists of anything from tinned goods, fruit, and vegetables to dairy products, meat, and cupboard goods. If you would like to purchase a Fare Share bag please have your child bring in £3 on a Thursday to the school office ready for the Fare Share bag to be made up and sent home on a Friday at the end of school. All of the monies raised from Fare Share is reinvested straight back into the school to help fund school fetes, school trips, equipment, the cost of swimming lessons, and the cost of buses, etc.

An example of the type of food delivered and what is included in each bag is displayed below:

Please note:

The food delivery will be different from week to week and we do not know what is going to be delivered.

The food bags that are sent out will also differ from bag to bag depending on what items are brought in and how much of each individual item.
