Access to the forest is via Slater Road, off South Head Road. Follow event signage from Slater Road to reach parking. Parking is approximately 20 minutes from Slater Road.
The landowners on Slater Road have kindly allowed forest access through their property, provided all speed limits are strictly observed. Please keep your speed to 20 kph at all times, as we need to maintain good access relationships for upcoming events. Once in the forest the speed limit is 50 kph.
The route to the arena passes through an embargoed area for King’s Birthday 2026. You must not stop or exit your vehicle along the route until you reach parking.
Please ensure your headlights are on at all times while driving in the forest.

Courses 1-4 cross the forest access road to the event.
All courses cross/follow a public access 4WD track that leads to the beach.
There will be signs warning drivers to slow down and watch out for runners. Visibility on the forest access road is good. Visibility on the 4WD track is more limited, however traffic is expected to be light and slow moving. Competitors should take care when crossing these roads if they see or hear an approaching vehicle.
In the event of a fire or other emergency the normal evacuation procedures will apply. If you hear the repeated sound of car horns, travel immediately towards the sound to the road and wait to be picked up or to receive further instructions.
Course 1 and 2 have a map flip. The sides will be clearly labelled on the map in purple text.
When a map flip occurs the first side of the map will be facing down at the map pickup point.
When you reach the last control of Side 1/3, you turn the map over to Side 2/4. This is also indicated on the control descriptions. On Side 2/4, the location of the last control of Side 1/3 is marked with symbol 715. You will continue navigating from this point.
Control numbers continue after a map flip.
