Both courses have two map flips. The sides will be clearly labelled on the map in purple text.
When a map flip occurs the first side of the map will be facing down at the map pickup point.
When you reach the last control of Side 1/3, you turn the map over to Side 2/4. This is also indicated on the control descriptions. On Side 2/4, the location of the last control of Side 1/3 is marked with symbol 715. You will continue navigating from this point.
Control numbers continue after a map flip.

Both courses have one map exchange at some point along the course.
A map exchange takes place at a control with the following sequence:
Punch the last control on Map 1
Follow the mandatory route to the map exchange point
At the exchange point, place Map 1 in the bucket provided
Take Map 2 from the correct box on the table. The first side of the map will be facing down
Continue navigating from the point marked with symbol 701 (start). A control flag in the terrain will indicate the new start location, but this does not need to be punched.
Control numbers continue after a map exchange.

There are trip hazards within both schools, including bike racks, door ledges and children’s play equipment, particularly in the primary school area.
There is a mandatory road crossing marked on the map with symbol 710.1 (crossing point). Competitors must cross the road at this designated location only.
The crossing will be supervised to manage traffic and ensure competitor safety. This leg will not be timed, and time spent at the crossing will be removed from the overall course time. Competitors must still move briskly across the road, as it is not an opportunity to stop or catch your breath.
Out-of-bounds areas and uncrossable boundaries that are difficult to recognise on the map or to distinguish in the terrain may be marked in the terrain with tape. This may include areas that are marked on the map using symbols such as 520 (area that shall not be entered), or 411 (uncrossable vegetation), or boundaries that are marked on the map using symbols such as 515 (uncrossable wall) or 518 (uncrossable fence or railing).
Artificial barriers may be installed within the competition area. Although they are physically crossable, they are marked as uncrossable on the map and must not be crossed under any circumstances.
Artificial barriers will be:
Marked in the terrain with tape
Marked on the map with symbol 708 (out-of-bounds boundary)
In some cases accompanied by symbol 709 (out-of-bounds area)
Marshals may be present within the competition area to monitor safety and rule compliance.
There will be no opportunity to spectate. Non-competitors must remain in the parking area. Live results will be available during the event; the link will be available closer to the event.
