In order to become a resident of this island, you must first create a dog. There's a wide variety of breeds out there to create the perfect character! Or perhaps you may be interested in trying out for a dog that's already waiting to be claimed?

Be aware, you may only take control of three dogs until you gain currency on this island.

Do choose carefully on your dogs, you will have to wait two weeks before you are able to submit another one.

Before you wander off to go create your character, there are rules upon this island. Let me help you through character creation so you fit in.

▶ This is a canine roleplay: Your character can only be a member of the dog family. Wolfdogs and other hybrids can only be created if you buy a Canid Hybrid token from the StarClan Shop and reserve a spot at the Ban List.

▶ Dogs must have at least three different breeds in their lineage (dogs can only have just two breeds in their lineage if there is a good reason behind it). Due to how long the dogs have been on the island, the vast majority of them are mixed breeds. Purebreds are very rare and are typically dogs who have been washed up onto the island. Designer dog breeds (dogs that have been bred from two different breeds of dog and are recognized as their own breed, ex. labradoodles, pomskies, etc.) are considered one breed.

▶ This group is semi-realistic, meaning genetics do not have to be 100% accurate to real-life dogs, but they cannot have neon fur/markings/eye colors, perfect-shaped markings (hearts, stars, etc.), horns/antlers, wings, etc.

▶ Adolescence age dogs must be approximately 2/3s their adult height, with this said these dogs also must have a estimate adult height for them (Don't fret if you don't have a exact height yet!)

▶ Small scars/injuries (including nicks in the ear) can be applied to your character for free! Larger injuries such as missing limbs/eyes/ears, torn lips, damaged vocal chords, etc. have to be bought from the StarClan Shop.

▶ Please read the entire Limitation List to see what mutations and other traits are limited.

▶ Currently small dog made items are free for you to put upon your dog. These items include but are not limited to, vine bracelets, Weaved necklaces, Small animal skull accessory, and much more. If you have any questions on a item you are planning please ask in #help. Currently the dogs do not know how to make any large accessories at this time.

▶ Supernatural skills can be granted to your character by StarClan’s blessing (at any age, but typically as puppies/when they’re born). They can only be applied to your character if you have a Skill Token which can be bought from the StarClan Shop.

Now that you have a dog, it's time to choose where they will belong and what rank they will have!

▶ Adults: Dogs who are over the age of 1 year old.

• Loner: Dogs who are known to wander or stay in one place but are not hostile unless provoked.

• Rogue: Adult dogs, usually considered dangerous or aggressive, who defend their own territory. These dogs will claim a bit of territory and will protect it like a clan dog would.

▶ Adolescent: Young dogs who are 6 to 12 moons old.

Requirements

◆ The Clan and Tribe dogs have mostly abandoned human terminology (ex. names for seasons/climates/regions, man-made objects/vehicles, specific animal names [They'd call a Steller's Jay a jay or a blue jay because they do not know the human-given name for it]). Unless your dogs' parents have knowledge of such terms due to arriving from off of the island, your Clan/Tribe dog cannot have a name such as "Paperhouse", "Planeflight", or "Stellerwing"

◆ Strays have more leniency when it comes to human terminology since many strays have background as twoleg pets and as such, human terminology tends to pass between different groups of strays. Some strays have 'pet names', such as Max and Bella while others have Clan names, though Clan names are only seen in exiles. Tribe dogs who abandon the Tribe have their formal titles stripped from them; the dog then will go by their nickname or a name they give themselves.

◆ Names cannot contain specific biology (liver, stomach, brain, etc.). The only exceptions are 'heart' and 'belly'

◆ Names cannot contain contain curse words, drugs, or anything offensive/derogatory. They also cannot be "meme" names, such as 'Mountaindew', 'Smokeweed', etc.

◆ Names must generally make sense; i.e, a dog cannot be named "Stickwing"

Dogs of the two Clans have a prefix and a suffix in their names: [ Prefix = First part of their name | Suffix = Last part of their name ].

Their prefix can be anything known to the Clan dogs (Stray dogs may keep their name as a prefix if they so desire). They typically describe a dog’s physical characteristics such as their pelt color/markings or behaviors/personality. Not all parents decide to name their pups right when they’re born in order to dictate their pups’ traits first such as eye color.

Their suffix will change depending on what rank they are given:

• Puppy (>6 Moons) = pup

• Apprentice (6 ➝ ~12 Moons) = paw

• Omega/Elder/Warrior/Healer/Delta/Beta (12< Moons) = Can be anything that is known to the Clan dogs

• Alpha (12< Moons) = star [ONLY the Alphas can have ‘star’ as a suffix]

Dogs of the Tribe are given formal titles for names but typically address themselves and others with nicknames.

Formal titles typically describe a scene in nature, such as “Lightning Flickering in a Storm” (Lightning), “Mountain that Looms over the Stream” (Mountain), or “Fawn Lost in the Thicket” (Fawn).

Mother's give their pups a singular name, such as Fawn, Mountain, Ect. Later when the pup earns its place within the tribe they are given their full name, normally something that helps show their skill or how they earned the rank.

Stray dogs do not follow a set naming rule as they all come from different backgrounds. Some strays were owned by two-legs and therefore have ‘pet’ names or names that contain words/objects not known by the island dogs. Others originate from the Clans or the Tribe and therefore have a Clan or Tribe name.
