American Public Health Association

APHA champions the health of all people and all communities. We strengthen the public health profession. We speak out for public health issues and policies backed by science. We are the only organization that combines a nearly 150-year perspective, a broad-based member community and the ability to influence federal policy to improve the public's health.

North Carolina Are Health Education Centers

The NC AHEC program began in 1972 to address national and state concerns with the supply, distribution, and retention of health care professionals. In 1974, the State of North Carolina’s General Assembly supported a plan to create a statewide network. Today, thanks to federal and state legislative support, the NC AHEC program consists of the NC AHEC program office, a network of nine regional AHECs, and the Duke AHEC program.

Reconnect for Resilience™ (Reconnect) trainings are trauma- informed and resiliency-focused, and offer practical strategies that individuals, organizations, and whole communities can use to promote balance and wellbeing. We teach about trauma, the brain, and the human nervous system in a way that participants of all ages, educations, or backgrounds can understand. Our simple, teachable format is designed for anyone to learn.

Center for Workforce Development

To enhance the health and quality of life of our community, the Center for Workforce Development facilitates the exploration, preparation and development of the health and human services workforce.​ We aim to ignite and fuel passion for the health and human services fields and engage with our community to form strong academic-community partnerships to develop our workforce and providing opportunities for lifelong learning.

The Region IV Public Health Training Center (PHTC)

The Region IV Public Health Training Center (PHTC) is one of 10 regional PHTCs in the Public Health Learning Network. The Region IV PHTC is comprised of the Central Office located at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University; seven Community-Based Training Partners (CBTs); and three Technical Assistance Providers (TAPs).
