Örebro Castle (Day 1)

Örebro Castle (Swedish: Örebro slott) is a medieval castle fortification at Svartån in Örebro County, Sweden. It was expanded during the reign of the royal family Vasa (House of Vasa) and finally rebuilt about 1900. Some of the rooms are used as classrooms for pupils from Karolinska gymnasiet

To reach the conference room at the castle you need to take th main entrance to the cast (see red line in the right figure). You need to pass the castle courtyard and enter the left door on the opposite site of the entrance. Here, you can take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. When you are at the second floor go to the right.

Getting to Örebro

From Arlanda airport to Örebro central station

There are multiple options to get from Arlanda airport to Örebro.

Train: You can take a train from the airport to Stockholm first (Pendeltåg, Snabtåg etc.). In Stockholm, you need to exchange to the train to Örebro. Here, SJ or Mälartåg are operating and the trains take about 2h.

Bus: Using Bus4you (https://www.bus4you.se), you will have a direct connection between Arlanda airport and Örebro central station. It takes about 2.5h. Note that some connections maybe require a bus exchange in Västerås.

In the following some suggested connections from the selected towns:

From Stockholm central station to Örebro central station

Train: Take the train to Örebro central station. Here, SJ or Mälartåg are operating and the trains take about 2h.

From Uppsala central station to Örebro central station

Bus+Train: It is convenient to take first the bus, either to Enköping or to Västerås. From there, you can take the train to the Örebro central station. Another option is to go to the Arlanda airport and take the Bus4You from there. A third option, which is only available very early in the morning or late in the evening, is to go directly by train via Stockholm. The travel time is about 3h.

From Gothenburg central station to Örebro central station

Train: There are direct train between Gothenburg and Örebro, going every hour or every second hour. The travel time is about 2.75h.

From Lund central station to Örebro central station

Train: The most convenient way is to take the train and to exchange one times. The approximate travel time is 5h.

From Linköping central station to Örebro central station

Train: There are trains with one exchange in Mjölby. The approximate travel time is 2-3h.
