Active Research Projects
We are currently conducting several research projects on gambling disorder treatment. The primary study in this area is the creation of an open-access, meta-analytic research domain on treatments for gambling disorder with an international group of researchers from across the world. This research domain allows us to conduct systematic reviews and meta-analyses that evaluate the effectiveness of psychological treatment for gambling disorder in randomized clinical trials. We are also conducting a randomized clinical trial of contingency management for gambling disorder.
We are actively involved in conducting a randomized clinical trial to prevent gambling disorder among 2- and 4-year college students at The University of Memphis, East Tennessee State University, and all 2-year colleges in Tennessee. We are also conducting secret shopper studies on customer experiences of acquiring information about casino responsible gambling and self-exclusion programs.
SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT
We are actively involved in evaluating the efficacy of substance use disorder treatments and identifying the processes that enhance treatment outcomes. Most of our efforts have centered on the efficacy of contingency management programs and how attendance of psychological treatment is associated with abstinence from alcohol and drug use disorder.
