The Warehouse is responsible for managing all components (excluding labels) that are purchased and shipped into both Jimmys North and South facilities. Pick list should be reviewed 48 hours in advance for each day in Jimmys North and reviewed a week in advance for Jimmys South. The picklist is crucial to ensuring that all items required for manufacturing is station in the right place at the right time or identifying shortages and communicating them to the purchasing, planning and manufacturing departments.
The steps to getting to the picklist is as follows : Z. Drive > Vicinity Purchasing Report > Warehouse Picklist date range
The production schedule/plan is the first key step in being able to successfully run and obtain a picklist. The Director of Planning usually submits the proposed following weeks plan to ownership for approval on Tuesday morning. Once approved, it is submitted to the Sr. production manager who then breaks the weekly schedule down by day. Once finish, the schedule is then inputted into the system by day, which the picklist then pulls the information from.
The Picklist is a vital tool used to confirm and verify if all necessary components are available to be positioned in the proper manufacturing facilities to accommodate for the scheduled production run. Getting the production schedule on time is key to ensuring all items are verified and shuttled in a timely fashion to their required manufacturing site. All items listed on the picklist are to be physically counted then reviewed prior to submitting transfer request. Please see attached SOP for Picklist Verification.
The South warehouse will manage shared raw & plastic components that are purchased and shipped into the North (some examples may include, invert sugar, nuts, chocolate, labels & 14 oz plastic). Requested items for the south are shipped between Thursday and Friday to be remotely available for the next weeks production run. Please see attached SOP for JS Order Request.
