NASCAR has sanctioned 100's of weekly tracks all across the country from the beginning, but the points standings and results prior to the forming of the Winston Racing series in 1982 have been hard to find and spotty at best, here is an attempt to bring you State and Track final point standings as well as what results that have been found. 

    ARRA welcomes its newest contributor, Kurt Wood!  Kurt has put together a very extensive research project on some of the early years of locally affilliated NASCAR tracks.  Before the NASCAR National Winston Racing Series was born, NASCAR was awarding points on the local level.  Kurt has volunteered to dig into his extensive collection of NASCAR record books and pull out the statistics...in an effort to put together the most comprehensive collection of NASCAR "pre-Winston Series" statistics as possible.  When you see how extensive  this first file is...you will understand when I inform you that additions will come slow as once Kurt has the stats from the record books....he then goes to the internet to hunt out individual race results and points with the hints from the record books.  So, this may be a long term construction process on this page, but we welcome the terrific research efforts of our newest contributor!  Welcome to our group Kurt.
