Stepney Green sixth form was established in 2005. Despite the school’s specialism being science, maths and computing, the creative arts have always been a pivotal part of the curriculum providing an opportunity for any young person to focus their education solely on developing their creativity. We offer, fine art, graphic communication and product design at A level.
The majority of our students who have studied within the creative arts faculty have gone on to university to pursue a career in graphic communication, animation and media at; Central ST Martins, University of the Arts London, Ravensbourne University, Escape Studios at Pearson’s, University of Westminster and Oxford University.
In addition to this, we work with a number of partners from a variety of creative spaces to enrich and develop each student's individual line of enquiry. Organisations such as Chisenhale Gallery, Auto Italia, A Team Arts Education and the Insights Programme delivered by Central ST Martins, - University of the Arts London, aid students' understanding of the creative industry and the various pathways they may wish to pursue in the future.
Our mission is to develop and cultivate minds that are enriched by a diverse, skills-based curriculum where students become excellent problem solvers, are resilient and contribute to a fairer more creative society.
The work in this exhibition includes work from our previous year 13's, current year 13’s and year 12 fine art, graphic communication and product design students. The projects develop from a variety of starting points such as: Expressionism, Surrealism, Identity, Animals, Robots, Art Deco and a selection of stop frame animations with accompanying characters.
