THAT network London in partnership with Artists, Galleries and Universities is pleased to present

a series of CPDs

Over the course of a year, we liaise and collaborate to offer a range of CPDs in which artist teachers can refresh their practice and explore new techniques and processes.

Venues range from London Metropolitan University - School of Art, Architecture and Design, the Whitechapel Gallery, University of the Arts -Central Saint Martins, and local schools.

This year CPDs took place between October 2022 and April 2023

Expressive Painting CPD at the Whitechapel Gallery

THAT network artist teachers had an inspiring Saturday painting workshop @whitechapelgallery for created for us by Kirsty Lowry.

As part of the workshop, two artists, Sarah Kate Wilson and Bettina Fung, introduced us to ways of working with paint, mark making and responding to their practice and ideas within the current exhibition - Action, Gesture, Paint - Women Artists and Global Abstraction 1940–70 at the gallery https://www.whitechapelgallery.org/

We explored a range of processes using painting and drawing activities considering action, movement and expression.

We went home with inspiration for our art practice and thought about using more interactive ideas with students.
