"Do you service my area?"
You bet I do! I am willing to service just about any area as long as I have enough horses in the area. I don't charge a travel fee, so the minimum of horses is necessary. Feel free to text me and we can chat about your location.
From Farifield, ID:
0-1 hours = 1-2 horse minimum
2-3 hours = 4-8 horse minimum
4-6 hours = -10-12 horse minimum
I currently service Idaho and Northern to Central Utah. I am open to servicing other states as long as my credentials allow me to. Ask me about your state and I'll check out our options.
Not sure if your animal is a candidate for massage therapy?
Contact Jenae LMT for a free evaluation. We can discuss the symptoms you are noticing, goals you may have, history of your horse and any contraindications. I ask a lot of questions. If you have videos or pictures available it truly helps me see what could be going on from a LMT point of view. If I refer you to a vet, don't take it personal. As a LMT my scope of practice can only cover so much and sometimes we have to rule out certain things before massage should be considered.
What type of horses do you work on?
Performance horses at all levels: national level, regional level, state level, local level. If you want to step it up, I can help you get there.
Horses recovering from an injury, surgery or post accident. All have to be seen by a vet prior to appointment.
Young horses in all disciplines, training, lessons, packing, hunting, working ranch, leisure, and yes even retired ones
How often should my horse get massaged?
It depends! It depends on what is going on with your horses body, your body, the amount of work they are doing and your goals. The majority of the performance horses I see maintain a 2-4 week schedule in show season and a 4-6 week maintenance schedule during off season. Some of the horses that I see that are in regular work routine but not heavily showing I see 4-6 weeks. The leisure horse I see anywhere from 2-6 months.
During your first session we will be able to evaluate the body and build a care plan that fits your goals for you and your horse. Sometimes we start off at a more frequent schedule and start spacing the appointments out as the body improves.
Do you charge by the hour?
No, I do not charge by the hour. I charge by the session. I had a trainer tell me once "If you don't have time to finish, then don't start. Horses don't wear watches and have all the time in the world."
Some horses need a little more time than others, either because their body has a lot going on or their personality requires a little more patience. I have an extraordinary amount of patience. Everything I do out of the love, kindness and in the best interest for the horse.
