Butere Technical and Vocational College (TVC) is a publicly funded institution operating under the TVET Act, 2013, by Kenya's laws. Aligned with the government's commitment to enhancing technical training and contributing to industrialisation as part of Kenya Vision 2030, the college offers a range of courses. These courses span various fields, including agriculture, mechanical engineering, building and civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, computing, informatics, business studies, and institutional management. The college is crucial in providing education and training opportunities to support national development goals in technical and vocational sectors.
The College currently has 7 major departments. These are, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automotive, Building and Civil, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, ICT, Business, and Hospitality and Consumer Sciences. The student population currently stands at 1587, with approximately 59 (female students) being boarders. Hours allocated for practical’s per week ranged from 11-50 hours, while the business department has no practicals.
Luanshya Technical and Business College is one of the training institutions in Zambia overseen by a Management Board per the TEVET Act No. 13 of 1998 read together with TEVET (Amendment) Act No 11 of 2005. The Ministry of Higher Education selected the College to implement the Policy on Inclusive Learning, which addressed the disability aspect of differently abled students. For this very reason, the College recruits’ students with various disability challenges. The College currently has three academic departments under the Training Manager’s office, namely, 1) Education and Commercial Studies, 2) Engineering and 3) Business, Incubation, Research and Development (BIRD) Departments. The college is partnering with COL to implement the Skills in Demand project, utilising the e-apprenticeship model.
The courses offered are in line with the mentioned departments and include Electrical Engineering, Automotive Mechanics, Environmental Health, Heavy Equipment Repair, Computer Studies with Education, Managing Health & Safety, Secretarial & Office Management, Technical and Vocational Teacher, Procurement and Supply, Project Management, Secretarial and Office Management, Business Studies, Human Resource Management, Driving, Tailoring and Design, Bricklaying and Masonry, Carpentry and Joinery, Metal Fabrication and Food Production.
All courses are open to both female and male students as long as they meet the minimum entry requirements. The total student population is 1733 (M 1304, and F 429)
Yaba College of Technology is a higher education institution in Lagos, Nigeria mandated to offer both full-time and part-time courses in various fields, including technology, applied science, commerce, management, agricultural production, and distribution.
Yaba College of Technology is mandated to provide full-time and part-time courses of instruction and training in technology, applied science, commerce and management, agricultural production and distribution, and research. The college has an established Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, with linkages with commerce and industry. The College has a Quality Assurance Unit that monitors the quality of academic service delivery
The College has eight schools and thirty-four academic departments with seventy accredited programmes across ND, HND and post-IND levels. The programmes are run in conjunction with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the Federal University of Technology, Akure. The student population, comprised of full-time and part-time students, is 14,231, with 2,567 being borders. The staff strength stands at 2063.
In 2016, the Flexible Skills Development Centre (FSDC) was established and later renamed the Centre for Open Distance and Flexible e-Learning (CODFeL) in 2022. The college is partnering with COL to implement the Skills in Demand project, utilising the e-apprenticeship model.
