Access: Christiania includes a mix of paved roads and natural trails. While some main paths are paved, they may be narrow or uneven.
Rest Areas: Grass and natural seating nearby (rocks, logs), as well as seatings close to food stands and in restaurants.
Crowds: Christiania is busy in summer.
Tip: Visit early or midweek for a quieter experience.
Thomas Dambo is a Danish recycling artist who is turning trash into large-scale art pieces located in 20 countries across 5 continents. During the process of building his art pieces, he works in and with local communities. The Troll that we can see here is Green George, a gift to the Freetown Christiania in 2019. He was built with trashed wood from the Christianias garbage disposal and in collaboration with Rasmus Balstrøm.
