Transition Goal

To build my capacity to effectively lead the Central Iowa Community School District through visible engagement, reflective listening, and active participation, in order to ensure a transparent, thoughtful, and supportive transition to effectively serve all stakeholders in the Central Iowa Community.

Iowa Roots

I am a proud Iowa native, born and raised in Des Moines. My husband Todd is tradesman and currently the Operations Manager at a local drywall company. Together, Todd and I raised two wonderful children. Our oldest, Kylie is a Chiropractic Physician at Rogan Sports Clinic in Charlotte, NC and her husband, Dr. Casey Schneible, recently opened his own practice Movement Spine and Sport. Our son Tim is an Electrician with Baker Electric in Des Moines.

Free Time fun

Family, family, family. Most of my free time is spent with family. I enjoy taking day trips around Iowa with my husband, traveling to a warm beach during extended breaks from school, spending time by the pool during Iowa's hot summers, and planning game nights with family. I am the youngest of seven children and that means a lot of nieces and nephews even more great nieces and nephews, and now including a few great-great ones too :)

continual growth

Currently I am enrolled in the EdD program at Drake University. While this program is a formal commitment I still engage in other professional growth opportunities as regularly as I can. For example, I am an active participant in the Drake University Continual Improvement Network. I also try to complete one book study a school year with my colleagues. This year's book is The Fearless Organization by Amy Edmondson.
