Relatively recently I have been learning how to digitally paint portraits of people. I love finding new portraits of a wide range of subjects - young women, old men, heavily tattooed people, and culturally significant clothing and headdress are all subjects I thoroughly enjoy. I also take great pride in my use of value mixed with my unique color choices, which when combined displayed striking contrast in bright neon pieces.
The new paintings at the bottom are a different style, where I apply my own anatomy skills without a photo reference in order to paint fictional characters.
This piece depicts the character Geralt of Rivia played by Henry Cavill in the popular Netflix Original Series The Witcher.
The character's clear contrast between the white hair and black armor lent itself to an interesting subject to paint. Along with the light silver wolf medallion hanging around his neck, the piece draws your eye across the entire image.
This painting is an art challenge I participated in, in which you are given a randomized pallete with a reasonable range of values. You then must paint your piece with your PC monitor settings set to "Greyscale" - forcing you to use solely the values of each color to paint. Once the piece is finished, you then reveal the color palette and see what you have created.
I chose my favorite scene from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, where main antagonist Doctor Otto Octavius (played by Alfred Molina) has a major battle with Peter Parker, involving the hero's aunt in the altercation.
This piece shows the members of my personal favorite modern rock band, Måneskin. Based in Rome, Italy, this band consists of lead singer Damiano David, guitarist Thomas Raggi, bassist Victoria de Angelis, and drummer Ethan Torchio.
This painting utilizes my favorite color palette, with hot pinks and deep blues and purples highlighted with light baby pinks.
This greyscale painting with blood-orange highlights depicts Katya Michailov Goncharova, one of the main characters in the fake movie Goncharov supposedly directed by Martin Scorsese.
This movie was the result of an internet meme all started by an advertisement of a non-existent movie embroidered onto a work boot.
This painting's speedpaint is avalable to view on my Youtube channel.
This painting shows off a gentle scene from a current Dungeons & Dragons game I am currently running in which two NPCs share a quiet moment in a hidden divine grove.
