Hello, I'm Adam! I am an illustrator and graphic designer in the Thumb area.

I've been drawing as long as I can remember. From crayons to markers to the computer, I've made it a point to improve constantly and study the greats before me. I love drawing characters interacting with each other and sharing important moments together, just as those in the real world do. I write stories with my drawings and videos, telling tales of action, mystery, and adventure.

I recently graduated Reese High School and attended the Tuscola Technology Center for Graphics and Digital Imaging, but my illustration and animation skills are all self-taught through years of studying professionals' works in my own time. Although art is a very large part of who I am, it is not my first choice for an occupation. I am attending Saginaw Valley State University in the Fall 2024 semester to obtain a Bachelor's in Music, majoring in Secondary Music Education with a minor in Japanese Language Studies. I will work as a high school band director and work on graphics jobs in my free time and in the summer!

CERTIFICATIONS

Through the Tech Center, I received three certifications.

I completed the 10-Hour General Safety OSHA certification, earning me a lifelong OSHA certification I can take to any job I work at. This certification entails details such as safe work environments, picking the correct PPE for a job or service, workplace harrassment, and more.

I also have been certified in Commercial Art l and ll, stating that I have a deep technical knowledge in digital printing processes, screen printing processes, vinyl and HTV cutting and application, large format/signage, digital advertisements, binding & finishing processes, large-scale print services, and more.

AWARDS

During my time at the Tuscola Tech Center, I competed in Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society (MITES). At MITES Regionals 2023, I won 1st Place in Open Transportation and 2nd Place for my digital illustration.

I took MITES 2024 by storm; entering seven projects and winning various ribbons on each project. Six of the seven projects (my 1-color bird vinyl stickers received an honorable mention) went to states, where each project also won a ribbon there as well. I had submitted vinyl stickers, a screen printed shirt, screen printed poster, handmade resin jewelry, a logo package including a business card, letterhead, and envelope; short full-color animation, and a calendar - earning me in total 13 ribbons, 2 wooden plaques for state first place winners in Division A, and a stone plaque for the Overall Award.

My calendar was a 4-color process print decked out with 12 digitally-painted illustrations with many details pertaining to the zodiac signs. This calendar won the Grand Overall Award, the highest award attainable at MITES. This award is given to those who surpass all other projects within all divisions.

During MITES Regionals 2024, I was approached by a reporter for the Tuscola County Advertiser for an interview here.

Lastly, at the end of my senior year attending the Tech Center, I was awarded two more prestigious awards. I was awarded the Link to The Future award, given to those who are leaving the Tech Center with high achievements: Seniors who have shown dedication, discipline, and pure talent who are destined to pursue their careers in the industry of their choice receive this award.

I also received the Tuscola Tech Center Student Forum Scholarship, a $500 scholarship awarded to exiting seniors who were nominated to serve on the Student Forum, a student leadership group in the Tech Center. I was in charge of many projects we did as a group, such as organizing blood drives, canned food drives, planing events for the students of the Tech Center to enjoy such as Spring Fling, and more. I was dubbed "a leader among leaders," a student who took charge and volunteers many hours of my time to better the Tech Center for the other students attending it.
