A few summers ago I had the opportunity to work as a camp counsellor. While working at this day camp I had to:
Create activities that were interesting and engaging
Be a positive role model
Create an environment that was open and inclusive
In 2022 I worked as a Special Education Technician in my hometown. While working in this position I was required to:
Apply intervention techniques (in terms of learning and behaviour)
Provide support to the teacher
Substitue when required.
This was a very eye opening opportunity for me as I learned about different students needs and how I could implement differentiated learning into my own classroom.
In the Winter of 2023, I had the opportunity to complete my 70-hour practicum where I implemented lessons, assisted with student work, and developed various skills regarding classroom behavior. This was a very insightful experience and the things I learned will remain with me throughout the entirety of my teaching career.
