Welcome to the Norfolk Sea Cadet unit, Top Hatters Squadron.

We onboard NSCC cadets three times each year. Recruit Orientation cycles are 3 months long in order to prepare cadets with the knowledge and skills to attend trainings during summer and winter months.

CAN I JOIN IF I AM IN A JROTC OR OTHER MILITARY PROGRAM?

Yes, we welcome members of other youth military organizations. We offer additional training and educational aspects that compliment what a cadet may be learning with their school, Civil Air Patrol or Young  Marines peers. We offer technical training experiences that can take you across the country even across the world with our International Exchange Program.

All fees are accepted via cash or check only. Fees & ALL forms are due at the time of enrollment.

Initial Membership Enrollment 

$280

This covers the enrollment for NHQ and unit level requirments.

Discounts offered for enrolling sibilings. Contact the CO for details.

Monthly Drill Fee

$25

This covers food, beverages, snacks & more during each weekend.

Annual Membership Renewal

$120

Discounts available based upon rank at re-enrollment.

Training Fees

$250 - $500 

Summer/Winter training(s) - fees vary based on training subject and length.

Trainings are not unit based activities & are paid to each training location.

ADA STATEMENT

A medical examination, similar to a high school sports physical is required for all cadet applicants to the Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) or Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC). No one will be denied admission to the NSCC/NLCC due to medical disability. Where a medical condition precludes full, unlimited participation, a Request for Accommodation (Click here for: NSCADM 015)  may be presented by the parent or guardian for review so the cadet may participate in NSCC activities to the maximum extent possible.
