Seahawks Shadow Interest Form
Cadets at Top Hatters Squadron must earn their uniforms by performing their coursework and advancing in the program.
NLCC cadets will complete the Apprentice and Able Cadet courses/exams.
NSCC cadets will complete Recruit Orientation prior to earning their uniforms.
Please remember that issued uniforms are pre-worn uniforms and not all sizes are available. Parents are responsible for alterations as needed.
If the Cadet leaves the program, ALL issued uniforms must be returned within 15 days, as they are considered on loan to the cadet.

1 Dress Blue Uniform
2-3 white undershirts
1 White Hat
1 8-point Cover
1 Sea Cadet Ball Cap
1 Neckerchief (NSCC)

Families Will Provide:

Pillow case and twin bedsheets
5 brown t-shirts (no logos, no color)
5 black boot socks (no logos, no color)
5 white crew length PT socks (no logos, no color)
2 dress black socks
2-3 white undershirts
2 pairs of blousing straps (NEX or Vanguard)
1 pair of black boots
1 pair of black dress oxford style shoes (no seams on toes) - must not be glossy
1 pair of athletic shoes - must be able to be tied and have traction (no vans or skater style shoes)
1 Sea Cadet Sweatshirt - optional at the unit (Vanguard)
1 Sea Cadet Sweatpants - optional at the unit (Vanguard)
*highly reccomend the Treasure Shop thrift store for those with base access, those without base access may resource items at local thrift shops. Items must be in good condition and not have stains or holes.
VANGUARD has a local Norfolk storefront.
You are welcome to go in and purchase items directly from them to save on shipping fees.
This is the fastest method to order your cadet's uniform identification. You will need sew-on tapes for each set of NWU pants, velcro name and branch tape for the NWU parka, velcro or sew on tapes for the NWU blouses (depending on what is issued) and a black name plate for dress uniforms.

Homeport has the updated uniform manual. To access, cadets must log in to their Quarterdeck.
Both NLCC & NSCC cadets wear the Type III uniforms at Top Hatters.

These unifroms should have name tapes sewn on or attached via velcro strips as shown in the uniform manual. Rank is worn on the uniform tab when earned at the unit level.
Cadets shall wear black boots, black socks and a brown undershirt with issued uniform.
Parka & fleece are both marked with USNSCC identification and rank.

Worn by NSCC / NLCC cadets.
Plain toed, oxford style black, brown, or white, low quarter, lace shoe, made of smooth leather or synthetic leather. The heel shall be an outside heel 3/4 inch – 7/8 inch high with a flat sole.
Important note about dress shoes. The exact shoes, as pictured, are not completely necessary. Any black dress shoe that is:
1. Black, leather (for polishing)
2. Laced
3. No seams along the top toe area, are completely acceptable.
