Seahawks Shadow Interest Form
WELCOME ABOARD LETTER COMING SOON
Virginia Trainings this year include events for America 250 and Sail250. Ensure you are registered through Magellan before you make arrangements for payments and travel.
High Standards = Better Cadets.
Staff Cadets will be thoroughly vetted.
Vanguard Industries is in Norfolk and open Monday - Friday. Families must use this location for any missing USNSCC items. There is no excuse for arriving with missing flashes, PT gear, name tapes, etc.
The Navy Exchange is minutes away, and missing uniform items can be purchased by families here. Do not arrive with missing uniforms. Cadets will be turned away at check-in for failure to meet the standards of training.
We do not let cadets call home unless there has been an emergency.
We do not read emails from home. This practice creates homesickness and a sense that cadets are needed at home more than at training, where they are learning and growing.
Staff Cadet applicants (leadership credit) for all trainings must be at least Petty Officer 3rd Class.
Families, make the goodbye and hello a fun time. No crying. Tell jokes, be funny, be embarrassing, just don't be sad.

Cadet Responsibilities:
Do the coursework, pass your PRT, have an inspection ready uniform.
Cadets must want to attend training. Forced participation results in negarive outcomes.
Have fun, be positive, work hard.
Parent Responsibilities:
Watch the Training Instructional Video when you are searching for trainings to apply to.
Register for training and pay within 2 weeks of confirmation. Seats are limited and lack of payment will result in the seat being opened up to another cadet.
Pack everything on the Seabags list. While not everything may get used, this is a lesson about following direction. Do not let your unit or chain of command determine what these trainings place on the list.
Be patient. Be proud. Be a cheerleader.
Do not tell your cadet you will be "lost" without them. Celebrate their training as an exciting achievement in self-improvement. They will do better when they know you are not worried about them.
Unit Responsibilities:
Show families where Trainings are found within the Parent Portal
Show families where cadet eligibility stands in their Quarterdeck and in Magellan
Verify status of applications within a resonable time of parent application to a training
