The Toledo Area Glass Guild's objectives are to provide a facility and environment for the expression and practice of glass art; to promote and foster the appreciation and understanding of glass art through public lectures, demonstrations, and education, and to reinforce the image of Toledo as the glass capitol of the world by showcasing the works of accomplished glass artists.

Handmade glass production was added to the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December of 2023. TAGG will continue to honor this time-held tradition and takes steps to ensure the future viability of this craft with current members and the local community.
