Within the Toledo Botanical Gardens, you will find a variety of art mediums and artists committed to the expansion and accessibility of their craft. These Art Guilds work to serve the greater Toledo area and the art community by creating working spaces, accessible work centers, and visiblity to these timeless crafts.
TAGG is no exception and works hard to create a hands-on experience and make the creative art of hot glass blowing and sculpting into a reality for members and visitors.
The Studio Movement was started in 1962 in Toledo Ohio with a small group of artists, engineers, and scientists. The goal - make glass available beyond commercial production.
Where did the Studio movement head after the initial workshops at The Toledo Museum of Art? Among other places, Labino and others created a small studio at TAGG and the rest is history. TAGG is committed to the mission of making glass blowing available and accessible. The studio is operated and maintained by a small group of glass artists, but the mission is to expand our reach, onboard new artists, and engage blown glass art with the masses.
