The dust work begins.
1st thing to do is set the panel gaps and double check alignment of all critical areas including the glass.
Gaps are sanded down slowly to an even 3/16th inches. Setting Gaps Video.
Next fiberglass seams are ground down and a layer of HSRF is laid out prior to final body filler. Sanded with 80 grit on DA sander for seams. Sanding parting mold lines.
Body filler was applied to perceived low spots and along all parting lines. Blocked the rest of the body with 150 grit. Applied some glazing putty on heavy 40 grit scratches to bring everything all to 150- grit. Now I believe I am ready to spray some high build primer. Here is a link to the work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8-nffE_duE
Summer 2022- sprayed everything with high build primer in gray. Here is what my garage looks like now. Garage booth. Here is the primer coat! Sanded with 220 dry, 400 wet, 600 wet
Test sprayed doors since they will have no striping or fancy stuff. Turned out well. Need to lower material feed on gun to 75%. Some running. Here they are.
Final spray paint 7/26- Sanded the sealer, applied stripe color, masked off stripe, then painted rest with galaxy gray HOK paint. Applied 4 coats of house of color clear. Some striping on back of body that I did not notice...otherwise very nice. After final paint.
