GENERAL QUESTIONS

What materials will I need?

The course can be done with tools as simple as a piece of paper and a pencil.  It is totally up to you.  I would recommend some basic printer paper or a journal with blank pages and some markers or pencil crayons (coloured pencils) if you are going analog.  If you want to try digital, I use a program called Procreate and my Apple Pencil or this stylus.

Is the course live? Do I need to be available at a certain time of day? 

Nope!  The course runs asynchronously.  Every Saturday, in Google Classroom, I post the information for the week (video lesson about the element, interview with the expert(s), weekly challenge) and you can complete the activities when it suits you.  I also post a Doodle challenge daily on Google Classroom.  Again, you can do them the day they are sent or on a day that work for you - though I do see the benefit in 5-10 minutes of daily practice. 

Can I do the course with the student in my class?

Please do!!  

I get an error message when trying to join the Google Classroom.  What is going on?

Be sure you are in a Gmail account that is not an EDU Gmail.  Unfortunately you cannot join the course with a Google for Education account those account types can only join Classrooms within your domain (school district).  You must join with a personal Google account. If you receive an error when joining, you are likely signed into your education account.

REGISTRATION

I registered but have not received any information about the course.  What do I do?

All information about how to the course is at the bottom of the confirmation email from Eventbrite.  (Don't worry - lots of people miss it not realising there is info beyond the virtual ticket!). Go back and check that email.  If you deleted it, please reach out to me at jen@virtualgiff.com.

I am Canadian and wanted to e transfer the money rather than pay on Eventbrite.

Can I pay by sending you money through Venmo?

Nope, big old Canadian "SORRY!" on that one.  Unfortunately we do not have Venmo in Canada.

I am am a student and want to take part in the course.  Do you offer a student discount?

I took the course before and want to do to again live.  Is that possible?  Do I have to pay again?
