Veronica talks about picking up the Tulips from a Korean Deli, and as it turns out, in Korean culture gifting flowers is always very thought out and symbolic. Tulips in Korean culture represent wealth and plenty, which might be why a store owner would recommend tulips to a more visibly wealthy customer. Even more interestingly, in American culture, tulips symbolize rebirth and new beginnings, and they are destroyed in the script which symbolizes in my interpretation the meaninglessness of wealth, and the loss of a new beginning. Effectively throwing away their shot at a new beginning as perhaps friends or even as individuals. 

A wholesale company is pretty much a company that buys products in bulk in order to turn around and sell the same products to retailers. They typically specialize in one specific area of products, such as automotive or plumbing, in this case, it is domestic hardware such as door knobs and locks, things common in a household. 

Hamsters operate on polyphasic sleep/wake patterns, which means they are most active at dawn and dusk, and take many naps throughout the day and night. The average hamster needs approximately 12-14 hours of sleep per day. Most hamsters in captivity have a nocturnal sleeping pattern, which would (partially) explain why Michael is so upset by the hamster. An additional fun fact is that hamsters are often used in REM sleep studies, and it is proven that hamsters go through the REM sleep cycle (they dream.) 

The natural habitat for wild hamsters spreads across Europe, and they primarily like warm, dry areas such as grasslands and meadows. Syrian hamsters (golden hamsters) were originally domesticated in the 1930s for medical and neurological research. 

Hamsters have a lot of health conditions. Extreme stress puts extra strain on the hamster's mind and organs, and it is likely that if the hamster was older, it was likely to have a stroke when Michael dumped it outside. 

Domesticated hamsters rarely hibernate, but may rather slip into what is called a torpor which is a state in which hamsters may go into a hibernation state for only a few days. This typically only happens to hamsters that are enduring poor living conditions. This state typically only stops when either their conditions improve or they die due to conditions such as heart failure, dehydration, or hypothermia. 

The fear of rodents is called Musophobia. 

A clafouti is a French dessert that commonly consists of a fruit that is covered in batter, and baked until crustless. Imagine making a chocolate chip cookie backward. You start with the chocolate chips and then you pour cookie batter over them until they are covered and cook them like that. These typically are only apples OR pears, but can truthfully be made with any fruit.

Spartacus was an ancient Roman gladiator who led a rebellion against the Roman Republic from 73 B.C.E. to 71 B.C.E. It is estimated that he fought with an army of 100,000 others who were brutally oppressed by the Roman leaders. He is thought to have died in battle, with only 6,000 people surviving the battles. These people would be brutally crucified by the Roman army. 

The Riot Act was a British Law in 1714 that allowed authorities to disperse crowds of more than 12 people. They did this by angrily reading the proclamation and if people didn't separate within the hour, these authorities would be allowed to prosecute people as felons. Since then, the phrase, "Read them the Riot Act" means to essentially get your point across by any means necessary, typically loudly and relentlessly. 

An expensive brand of men's cologne, ranging typically from $50-$75. After being on the Yves Saint Laurent shelves since 1981, the product was discontinued in 2020. This cologne is typically very musky and has a range of spice scents. 

Darjeeling tea is a tea that originated in India in the Himalayan foothills. The tea typically has a floral aroma and a grape-like flavor.

All of the types of cigars that Michael lists are very sought-after and expensive in the cigar community. Also, to clarify, the difference between a Monte Cristo number three and number four is simply that the number three is longer than the number four. These cigars can sell in about the $200-$300 range and are often bragged over by those who choose to purchase them.
