The Marine Corps Reserve Association Education Trust is pleased to announce that eleven (11) scholarships will be available to outstanding Marine Corps JROTC cadets in the Class of 2027.
This scholarship is an opportunity for deserving cadets who have demonstrated academic excellence, character, integrity, leadership, and commitment to their future.
Scholarships are tuition-only awards, and funds will be sent directly to the college or university selected by the recipient.
To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must:
Be a United States citizen;
Be unmarried, without dependents, and not pregnant;
Be of good moral character;
Be at least 16 years old and not more than 23 years old;
Rank in the top 25% of their graduating class; and
Be a graduating senior enrolled in a Marine Corps JROTC high school program with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5.
There is NO obligation to join the military if you receive this scholarship.
Applicants should begin preparing their application materials early. You will be required to submit:
A Handwritten Essay
A handwritten essay of no more than 250 words addressing:
Your career goals;
Your view of personal integrity; and
Your understanding of the meaning of loyalty.
Letters of Recommendation
You must obtain recommendations from:
An English teacher;
A mathematics teacher;
A science teacher;
An adult outside of school who has known you for at least three years and is not a relative; and
Your high school principal or counselor.
Letters of recommendation must be sent directly by the authors to LPM.USMC@gmail.com.
Official High School Transcript
Your high school registrar must send your transcript directly to LPM.USMC@gmail.com.
Photographs
You must submit a full-length photograph in Marine Corps JROTC uniform. If selected as a scholarship recipient, you will also be asked to provide a head-and-shoulders photograph suitable for display on the Marine Corps Reserve Association Education Trust website.
