Artist's Statement

Drawing and creating assume a profoundly meditative role in my artistic process. I derive satisfaction from pushing my boundaries through the intricate detailing and rendering involved in creating lifelike drawings and paintings. My artistic journey is a deliberate exploration of the profound connections formed with significant events and individuals throughout my life — whether it's traversing the Southwest with my brother or sharing a quiet moment with a dear friend, each piece resonates with its unique narrative.

In my most recent body of work, I've delved into the interplay between attraction to the aesthetic and the allure of the abstract. I pose a question: Is there a juncture where these two realms intersect harmoniously? By capturing an aesthetically pleasing photograph and transforming it into an abstract landscape, I seek to strike a delicate balance between aesthetics and meaning. It's a fusion that teeters on the edge, capable of tipping in either direction effortlessly.
