On December 22, 2018, Thunderbird Youth Club (TYC) had an Expo at Old Atlanta Recreation Center. There was First Lego League (FLL), FLL Jr. Team 1, and FLL Jr. Team 2 presenting who am I, Core Values, some problems and what they liked most in FLL. TYC also had a coding expo. In that expo, kids would go up and present what they coded.

In FLL, they had to solve a problem in outer space in the “Into Orbit” project. Their name were the Pokebots. They chose collecting space junks. They made a robot on a table to collect trash. Every team member said what they learned from the experience and what they liked. A special congrats to them because they made it to the super-regional round.

In the FLL Jr. Team 1, they had to build a base on the moon with the circumstances that humans could live on. Their name was the Iron Bots. The FLL Jr. Program is a fun experience for kids. They had to find a way to store oxygen and water. They had to be able to communicate and transport from one place to the other on the moon. The team had to solve many other problems too.

In the FLL Jr. Team 2, they programmed robots and played with Legos. Many kids loved this club. They built a moon rover. Their name is Team Adventure.

I was in FLL Jr. Team 1. My favorite part was making and building the Legos so that we could store water and air.

In the Coding expo, many kids shared their Scratch projects and the older kids made Arduino projects. Everybody who made a project either with Scratch or Arduino, went up in front of the crowd to present their projects. Everybody had a video to go with the project. Some people used the PowerPoint.

There were also basketball games and even a tug-of-war match. This expo was a really fun experience. We are all looking forward to the 2019 expo. Remember, all we do is “Learn, Interact, and Grow!”
