Position Paper Requirements and Recommendations:
Times New Roman, 12 Pt
Name, Delegation, Committee, and Position in the top-right of your paper
Bolded or underlined header with topic
Works Cited page in MLA format
Minimum three citations, although strong papers typically have five or more. You may not cite Wikipedia.
Recommended one-page length (not including citations)
NOTE: You may be required to write two papers for two topics, depending on the committee. Please reference your background guide for more details on this.
Recommended format - three paragraphs:
Background on the Topic
Your Country or Character's Position
Plans and Solutions
Awards
No award will be given for best position paper.
Position papers are not directly factored into your awards. However, a good position paper will prepare you well for debate. Writing a well-researched paper is a great way to make the most out of your THSMUNC experience.
