Hi, I’m Marisol Ramirez—Birth Doula, Lactation Educator, and Co-Founder of Three Moons Doula Collective.
I come to this work not just as a doula but as a mother, foster parent, LGBTQ+ community member, and proud daughter of Colombian immigrants. Every part of my identity fuels my passion for birth justice, equity, and advocacy—especially for those whose voices have been historically silenced in maternal care.
My doula journey began with a simple truth: every birthing person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment or barriers. Trained by DONA International and later mentored by the legendary midwives at The Farm, I’ve spent years standing beside families from all walks of life—supporting powerful, unmedicated births, navigating VBAC journeys, and witnessing the quiet strength that unfolds in labor rooms every day.
My work is deeply rooted in advocacy for birth autonomy, particularly when it comes to VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). Too many families are denied choices or made to feel afraid of their bodies. I’m here to change that. I believe in educating, empowering, and equipping parents with the information they need to advocate for themselves—because when people know their rights, they can reclaim their births.
I’m also a Certified Lactation Educator Specialist and a proud Medi-Cal Doula provider and trainer, committed to expanding access to quality care in marginalized communities. Supporting families through chest/breastfeeding, postpartum transitions, and birth recovery is a sacred extension of this work.
Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a gift from my parents—one that allows me to truly connect with the families I serve and the future doulas I help train. Language builds trust, and I cherish the opportunity to support people in the language that feels most like home.
At Three Moons Doula Collective, I’m proud to help shape the next generation of birth workers—doulas who are community-rooted, culturally humble, and fierce in their advocacy. Whether holding space in the birthing room, teaching a lactation class, or mentoring a new doula, my mission is always the same: to uplift, inform, and empower because everyone deserves the right to birth with dignity, choice, and love.
