Three Moons Doula Collective is a community-based training program designed to prepare new and existing doulas for Medi-Cal training and compliance, to improve birth outcomes for families across California’s Central Valley.
Our mission is to train and empower doulas deeply rooted in their communities to deliver compassionate, culturally responsive care to Medi-Cal clients. We are committed to closing the gap in maternal health disparities by expanding access to quality doula support for Indigenous, Latino, and Black families.
We are here to guide you if you have ever dreamed of becoming a doula — or if you are already a doula looking to grow your skills and serve more families.
Our program focuses on:
Increasing the number of Medi-Cal-certified doulas serving diverse communities.
Addressing the critical shortage of Spanish-speaking doulas to better support Latino families.
Providing financial assistance for certification and training costs
Facilitating peer-to-peer learning and continuous mentorship opportunities.
Supporting doulas through the PAVE Portal experience and training pathways.
At Three Moons Doula Collective, we aim to strengthen community-based doula support and expand equitable access to birth support for historically underserved populations in Kern County. Our vision is that every family who wants or needs a doula can have one, regardless of financial or language barriers.
Our future physical location will be a hub for birth and family-related education in Kern County. In this welcoming space, doulas, families, and community members can learn, grow, and be supported throughout their journey.
