Thomas Kane’s Favorite Artists: Part Two

While Thomas Kane spends plenty of time finding and promoting new artists and new ways of supporting Chicago’s vibrant artistic community, he also has his own favorites.

Kane is an avid collector of art from household names as well as locals and up-and-comers from The Windy City. This page provides an additional glimpse into Kane’s collection and the artists that he believes are worth watching.

DiMarc

An artist who uses many mediums, including oils, acrylics and gesso, DiMarc has a colorful, abstract style that reflects his love of the outdoors.

His paintings explore complex textures and color palettes that demand in-person viewing for a full appreciation of their dynamism and depth.

"It's all about the energy and love. I enjoy exploring the multiple layers beneath the surface of my paintings. Each layer of paint is like a veil, revealing prior layers underneath. Thank you all for the love for art, it's truly appreciated by every artists heart." — Dimarc

Michael Eastman

An American photographer focused on landscapes, interiors, and horses, Michael Eastman has become one of the most recognized art photographers in the world.

For 50 years, the self-taught artist has documented the interiors and facades of buildings in Paris, Rome, New Orleans, Havana and others through large-scale photos.

His work has been exhibited all over the US and the world, with major exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago, New York’s International Center of Photography and Metropolitan Museum of Art, the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Photography, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and many others.

Bradley Harms

An increasingly well-known Canadian artist, Bradley Harms has made a name for himself with his unique approach to abstract art.

According to Harm’s LinkedIn page, his “work addresses the manner in which we perceive painting, manipulating the ideas of surface, form, and our notion of perfection.”

Harms graduated from the world-famous School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received his Master’s of Fine Arts degree. Harms’ work has been exhibited across Canada, as well as in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Miami, Munich, Sydney, Singapore, and Tokyo.
