Thomas Kane: Making Time for Charity and Community Endeavors

Much of Thomas Kane’s time is spent tending to his clients and running a successful financial business. In addition to his career responsibilities, Thomas puts an emphasis on making time for outside endeavors to keep him grounded.

His service to the community began at home as a child, where he was inspired by his parents giving back to the local Salvation Army and writing a check every year to the Jewish United Fund. It taught Thomas that large or small, giving back is something everyone can do.

In addition to FIDF, Thomas Kane is also a supporter of the following charitable organizations:

  • 100 Club of Chicago which provides financial assistance to the families of first responders who are killed in the line of duty.

  • The Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation whose mission is to discover, develop and implement effective new treatments for patients with cancer by advancing groundbreaking research.

  • The Jewish Federation of Chicago as a financial supporter.

  • Co-leader of a mission called “Rosh Gadol” where he focuses on bringing philanthropic minded young business leaders from Chicago to Israel to spend time with local leaders.

  • The Evans Scholars Foundation which provides scholarships to caddies who show great promise and have a financial need.

Thomas Kane’s best advice for entrepreneurs who want to get involved is:

Determine what drives you, then search for an organization that reflects those passions and values. Look at the available opportunities that will give you the greatest potential to make a difference. Think about how you can combine your passion for entrepreneurship with ways to help the community. It will add value to every aspect of your business.
