News Updates for Charities Supported by Thomas Kane

Thomas Kane feels passionately about supporting his local community through philanthropic support of organizations with causes he believes in.

These are some of the latest updates and success stories about the organizations he continues to support in the Chicago area.

100 Club of Illinois

The 100 Club of Illinois is a nonprofit organization that provides support for the families of police officers, firefighters and paramedics who are killed in the line of duty. The organization was originally called the 100 Club of Chicago until changing its name in 2021.

That’s because the organization also expanded its programming to include:

  • Family assistance at the time of a line of duty death

  • Family and First Responder financial assistance at any time

  • Scholar mentorship & training

  • 100 Club family events & resiliency programs

  • First Responder wellness & resiliency programs

  • First Responder Advisory Council for support services

  • Statewide liaisons for community support

The Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation

The Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation supports the development and implementation of effective new treatments for patients with cancer by advancing groundbreaking research.

The organization’s next fundraising event will be held this summer on June 2. The “Garden Fashion Show” will be held at the iconic Cancer Survivors Garden at Maggie Daley Park. With the skyline of Chicago, the organization aims to host a first-of-its-kind outdoor fashion show.

The Jewish Federation of Chicago

The Jewish Federation of Chicago, also known as the Jewish United Fund, is another organization that Thomas Kane feels strongly about supporting.

“Rooted in the belief in collective action and collective responsibility, the Jewish United Fund provides life-saving services and life-enriching experiences where they are needed most,” according to its website.

An active organization that helps thousands of meals to those in need, in addition to many other services, the JUF will host an event on January 25, 2022 honoring the work of nonprofit professionals.

“Join us virtually for a celebratory event dedicated to our nonprofit professionals where we will recognize our accomplishments as a community through these especially challenging times, gain meaningful professional insight from an interactive workshop on leadership development, and come together for good,” the website says of the event.

What are your favorite charities or local causes? Whatever they are, find a way to support them in 2022, even if it’s just a small allotment of time or money. It will make the world a better place, and probably make you feel a little more optimistic, too.
