Booking Conditions

Any payments made to ThisAndThat Safaris, constitutes the customer’s acceptance to the below booking conditions.

Conditions of Travel

Clients booking with ThisAndThat Safaris are accepted on the understanding that the clients appreciate the possible risks inherent in adventure travel. These risks include, but are not limited to, dangers of animals, hiking, walking safari, mountain climbing, mountain biking, inaccessibility to medical attention and difficulty in evacuation from remote locations in the case of medical emergency. The client assumes all such risks with regard to these possibilities.

Clients are responsible for obtaining passports, visas, vaccination certificates, travel insurance and any other documents relating to their holiday themselves and to meet any additional costs which may be incurred as a result of failure to comply with such requirements. It is essential that clients obtain travel insurance providing medical evacuation & repatriation cover.

Please note: As Zimbabwe does not have a reliable public ambulance service. ThisAndThat Safaris provides each client with emergency evacuation cover through a private ambulance services providers. Clients would be airlifted to the most appropriate medical facility and will be covered for this immediate attention. The clients’ own international travel insurance would need to be sufficient to cover the client from this point.

Bookings

The price agreed between the client and ThisAndThat Safaris will remain fixed. In the rare event of any hotels/lodges not honoring their booking ,ThisAndThat Safaris will find alternative accommodation of a similar or higher standard without any additional charge to the client. ThisAndThat Safaris will also honor any increase in park fees which may occur between the time of booking and the date of arrival.

Payment Details

Payment details for bookings made WITHIN 60 days of the tour departure date - If your booking is made within 60 days of the tour departure date then the full payment is due at the time of booking. This is to comply with the advance payments we are required to make to suppliers (such as accommodation) to secure your booking. Payments can be made via international bank transfer. (Transaction fees apply. As fees may vary please contact your bank for details of their charges. All transaction fees are to be paid by the customer and not ThisAndThat Safaris). Your booking will be confirmed on receipt of payment and the reservation process will commence.Payment details for advance bookings (more than 60 days before the tour departure date) - A non- refundable deposit of 35% of the overall price is required at the time of booking with the remaining balance due no later than 90 days prior to departure date. Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of the deposit payment and the reservation process will commence.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations should be made in writing and will incur the following charges:

  • 46 days or more prior to departure - US$500 per person cancellation penalty

  • 45 - 30 days prior to departure - 35% of tour cost

  • 29 - 20 days prior to departure - 60% of tour cost

  • 19 days or fewer prior to departure - 100% of tour cost

Travel insurance containing trip cancellation cover is recommended.

Please note: if no one shows up for a previously confirmed booking, this will be regarded as a ‘no show’ and will incur 100% of the confirmed booking cost.

Our liability

Clients together with their personal property including baggage are at all times solely at their own risk. We will not be liable for any injury, illness or death or consequent losses by you or any member of your group unless you are able to prove that such injury or illness was caused by lack of reasonable care and skill on part of our employees, agents, sub-contractors or suppliers in the performance of our obligations under this contract. We do not accept responsibility in respect of death, bodily injury or illness of any person participating on our tours as a result of (but not limited to) physical exertion for which a participant is not prepared, forces of nature, consumption of alcoholic beverages, civil unrest, terrorism, high altitude, actions of animals.

Complaints

We will do our very best to ensure that your tour goes according to plan. However, if you have a complaint arising out of what we have agreed to provide for you please let us know at the earliest opportunity and we will do our best to resolve the situation. If your complaint cannot be resolved locally then you should advise us within 15 days after your tour, in writing and with all relevant information. Failure to follow this procedure means we will be deprived of the opportunity to investigate the matter and rectify the problem.
