Not To Rhyme

I’m always trying not to rhyme

It seems a simple task

To say words that don’t sound alike -

Is that a lot to ask?

To always rhyme is not a crime

Some say it’s quite a skill

Put words to tune, like moon and soon

A talent with a quill

But I think it’s annoying

How words just spill right out.

Sounding alike, it’s just not right.

It makes me want to shout

I’m always having to explain -

I didn’t mean to rhyme

No matter how I try and try

It happens all the time.
