Where we provide the latest updates on Shannon's Work in her CSIT 101 class!
This page is dedicated to highlighting my progress in CSIT 101 where we learn the ins and outs of Computers & Technology. I look forward to filling this site with information about all of my upcoming projects this semester!
In Highschool I was a part of the Technical Theatre Magnet. Some of my favorite things I learned/experienced as a part of the Magnet were lighting operation and design, video and audio editing, becoming Technical Director for 3 productions my senior year, and even Directing my senior class's show "The One Act Play That Goes Wrong".
My Interests and Hobbies include music, movies, cars, theatre, crocheting "little Octos", playing guitar, my truck (The Green Machine), and racing RC cars.
I am currently a General Studies Major and I have interests in further exploring Technical Theatre, Digital Media, and Automotive fields.

Final Lessons Learned
This class has taught me many different aspects of technology and has allowed me to establish technical skills that I didn't have prior to taking the class as well as work on and practice the skills and knowledge that I had prior. This class taught us how to recognize and operate aspects of technology that we use and interact with everyday. An example of this is the Microsoft Suite. Throughout this semester we have developed skills for the many applications/programs that Microsoft offers; some including Word (skills that will assists/enhance writing assignments, research, & notes), PowerPoint (effective, creative, and informational presentations), and Outlook (operate & the prevalent way of communicating with professors/other individuals). Another example of this is our computer specific work. We learned effective ways of organizing files as well as how to recognize specific file types & their uses, how to utilize & make the most of OneDrive/cloud storage & its capabilities, the different hardware/software/functions of a computer, and even some beneficial alternatives to popular computer programs (like Audacity, Pixlr, & diagrams.net). We also covered helpful topics such as media bias and research techniques that allowed us to explore ways to effectively search for and analyze information in order to find reliable non-biased resources (while also utilizing and navigating search engines & databases (such as the CCBC library & Google Scholar). Last but not least I thoroughly enjoyed working on our ePortfolio project throughout the semester. It gave us insight into how to navigate Google Sites and what it takes to create your own website as well as opportunities to document our progress and demonstrate the technical skills we have learned throughout the class in a creative and functional way. It has been a fun experience exploring the different ways to present and summarize the projects we have done in class. Overall, learning each of these things (as well as much more that I didn't fully touch on) is especially helpful not only to know as a part of the highly technical age we live in now (& likely even more technical future), but as a student who is continuing their education. Having these skills/knowledge will allow for me to be a more efficient, resourceful, and tech savvy student and in general, help me to be successful in future classes. I enjoyed this class, the environment, and the technical knowledge and skills that it has given me and that I will take with me and continue to build upon in the future.
