Emerging Technology

Introduction

Emerging technologies are rapidly growing technologies that drastically change/impact society. This project tasked us with researching a current emerging technology that we are interested in learning more about, and creating a presentation based on the information we found in order to present this information to the rest of the class.

Project Artifact

This is my presentation on Metaverse Technology. I chose to research Metaverse Technology because it is a fairly recent and popular topic that I didn't have a ton of knowledge about and I wanted to learn more about its current and potential implications and societal impacts.

Lessons Learned

This project not only opened our eyes to the many different currently emerging technologies that could have great impacts on society in the future, but it further tested our presentation, research, and overall technical skills. Before researching this topic I had a limited knowledge of it overall. For example, I wasn't aware that there were multiple metaverses or games with metaverse implications around. My original view of the metaverse was Facebook's (or Meta's) "Metaverse". Overall, I really enjoyed learning more about Metaverse Technology as well as the many other types of emerging technologies that could drastically change the way we currently live.
