The Friends of the East Branch DuPage River Trail is an advocacy group in support of the development and construction of the trail. The Friends of the EBDRT did not develop the alignments or potential alignments for discussion, although the Friends have weighed in on various alignment options. DuPage County Department of Transportation is the lead agency on the project which has been part of the comprehensive plans for the County, the DuPage County Forest Preserve and the Villages of Glen Ellyn and Lombard and various park districts for decades.
