El Paso has so much to offer to our community. There are many restaurants that have so much to offer and small businesses that have so much history behind them and history to be made. Historical locations that bring the entire community together. In this essay, we wrote a report about a location or event within El Paso. In this essay, we teach other locations and events that we have felt a special interest in.

El Paso Chicano Movement
On December 3, 1971, 34 students took over the administration building at the University Of Texas El Paso to protest the lack of representation within the university. The reason why I chose to do this project was to better understand where the Chicano term comes from and what it means to be a Chicano. Additionally, this project made better understand the history of our town and our the UTEP.

For my report I decided to do it on on UTEP. many people from around the world and from different cultures come here to study and prepare and get ready fr the rest of the life they have a head of themselves. UTEP was founded on April 16, 1913 by the Texas Legislature as the State School of Mines and Metallurgy and later the El Paso Junior college would become part of it. Now the school offers a variety of career plans for students to choose from.
