The memoir that I wrote for this assignment, describes my challenges with depression. I describe how this affected me massively and changed the way I see many things around me. While Hispanics families always have a nickname for their own and each family member. Mine was "Blanca", I was very pale when I was younger , more pale than I am now. I was always praised for being pale, and when they gave me this nickname and the compliments with it , I was happy. However, when I started looking different in my appearance my family stopped calling me "Blanca". It upset me alot and I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror. This essay talks about the struggles I had and how I overcome this and how I am happy who I am with myself.
For my memoir I wrote about my guitar and the journey I've been on with it. Guitar for me has always been a safe space for me ever since I started playing it.
