In our literary analysis, we chose the theme of horror to analyze. We thought of this because we wanted to keep the season of Halloween going and it was a great way to show others what we found in some of the most famous works of literacy and movies. We all chose a different category to analyze and use Psychological Criticism.
In my essay, I analyze the first exorcism that Emely has to experience. in the scene, we can see the use of color means lots of things. White can recember purity, and red can mean the color of blood. However, they're a lot of juxtaposition by the director that is made evident. This movie is interesting since it's based on real-life events.
Literary analysis, how literary analysis was in physiological criticism while also we picked horror. Therefore, I choose to do a poem, the poem I chose was The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. I chose to do this to specifically talk about the characters and how individually they made an impact on the poem and the main character, which would be the narrator. When talking about this type of criticism we would have to understand what's going on in their mind and basically empathize with the characters not judge them and ironically, criticize them.
Ice Nine Kills originates from Boston Massachusetts and was started by Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz in 2002. Spencer Charnas is the only still active founding member. Ice Nine Kills is known for having their songs based on horror movies. for my analysis I did the song Funeral Derangements and it's music video. The song was based on one of Steven King's classics, his 1989 Pet Sematary. Throughout the song and music video you can see many of the connections between the lyrics, the video, and the movie. The song incorporates some of the lines from the movie in the lyrics and also some people represent characters from the movie and got the actor who play Gage Creed to play the truck driver who killed gage in the movie to make it like if he killed his own character.
Slave to the plot, let them rot
Or bring them back forever
Sometimes
Sometimes dead is better
Yeah
Sometimes
Sometimes dead is better
They say, "behind those gates, eternal life awaits"
But souls beyond the grave, come back beyond depraved
With church bells ringing, I'll start digging
Fast, they'll never know he's missing
Now the cat's back in his cage
"Oh my God, Gage!"
(We pray to thee our God
(It's all my fault)
(For the blessings you've provided)
(Don't do it)
(I have to)
I'll see you on the other side
But I'd kill to bring you back tonight
Don't give up, don't let go
I'll make this right (ah)
I'll dig through sorrow and disgust
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Don't give up, don't let go
I'll make this right
Remember sometimes
Sometimes (dead is better)
Yeah
Sometimes
Sometimes dead is better
They say that time heals all
But I won't heed the call
Buried in misery
Spare me the eulogy
Still, I can't escape the struggle
Driven when push comes to shovel
Whether God's hand or my own
Nothing here is set in stone
Create! Cremate!
All hail the Cemetery!
I'll see you on the other side
But I'd kill to bring you back tonight
Don't give up, don't let go
I'll make this right (ah)
I'll dig through sorrow and disgust
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Don't give up, don't let go
I'll make this right
Remember
Sometimes (dead is better)
It all began with a skid on the pavement
It ends here with funeral derangements
The flesh is living but the souls have spoiled
The wrath of God lays beneath this soil
The flesh is living but the souls have spoiled
The wrath of God lays beneath this soil
I'll see you on the other side
But I'd kill to bring you back tonight
Don't give up, don't let go
I'll make this right (ah)
I'll dig through sorrow and disgust
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Don't give up, don't let go
I'll make this right (ah)
Remember
Sometimes
Sometimes (dead is better)
For my literary analysis essay, I chose to evaluate the short story, "the weight of a glass of water", which is basically a scenario that involves a glass of water and the deeper meaning of holding it. to sum it up. if you were to hold a glass of water that is half full for a minute it wouldn't bother you, but if you were to hold onto it for a day or a week it would have an effect on you, and this relates to how we hold onto negative thoughts and stress, the longer we mourn the past and negative thoughts the more of an effect it has on us regardless of its weight/toll.
