Acknowledgements of Positive Behaviour.
At Officer Secondary College students who demonstrate the expected behaviours and college values will be awarded an acknowledgement by teachers. Learn more about the kinds of awards you can get and how below.
A B is an award for demonstrating the Officer Secondary College Behaviours. Receiving a B is an acknowledgment that you are demonstrating the college expectations. The B is an award that can be given to any student, at any time, to acknowledge them in a given instance.
The College Expected behaviours, and the reasons for being awarded with a B are if:
A student is Being Positive
A student is Being Respectful
A student is Being Responsible
A student is Being Prepared
A student is Being Safe
The Golden B is an award for students who are consistently demonstrating the Officer Secondary College Behaviours. Receiving a Golden B is an acknowledgment that you have consistently been demonstrating the college expectations over long period of time. The Golden B is an award that gives students points towards their house competitions.
The College Expected behaviours, and the reasons for being awarded with a Golden B are if:
A student is consistently Being Positive
A student is consistently Being Respectful
A student is consistently Being Responsible
A student is consistently Being Prepared
A student is consistently Being Safe
A value card is an award for students who have acted in a way that exemplifies the college values. Receiving a value card is the teachers way of recognizing that valuable contribution the student has made to the school community. The Value Card is an award designed to encourage students to go above and beyond what can be reasonably expected. The Value Card is an award that gives students 3 points towards their house competitions.
The Learning Community Legend is an award that can be determined by either the most Value Cards or by the LCT who deems the value card and recipient the worthiest for each LC class. The Learning Community Legend is presented at the Student-Led Assembly within LC time for each class. The LC Legends names will be published in a Celebration Post for parents and all students within the Learning Community.
The Principal Pride Award is presented to students who over the duration of the year have demonstrated the following;
Attends school in the college uniform and wearing it with pride.
Preforms their work at an excellent standard.
Demonstrates a high level of community spirit.
Is a positive influence on their peers.
Is always prepared for learning.
Has a school attendance rate higher than 95%.
