✨Hello Saints!✨
My name is Emily Luczon. I am 6th grade's representative.
On this page you'll find ways to help you study. I hope everyone enjoys my page!
The image on the left is exaggerated but blue light is still damaging even with one screen. The break doesn't have to be an hour long. It can be as short as 5 to 10 minutes a day. You can go out during those breaks to get vitamin D. Blue light can give you headaches and eye strain, which can make it hard to work on homework.
In these times, it's hard to socialize with your friends. It can be damaging to your mental heath if you do not interact with people for a long time. These are the apps I use to connect with friends. I use Google Duo, Discord, Houseparty, Netflix Party, and Rave. Even just a 10 minute call helps.
You don't want to be hungry during a test, so eat nutritious before it. Make sure you eat something in the morning like cereal or bread. Trying to think on an empty stomach is almost impossible. Food gives us energy to go through the day.
Step 1: Decide on what tasks need to be finished
Step 2: Set a timer for 25 minutes
Step 3: After the 25 minutes you can take a 5 minute break
Step 4: Repeat Step 1 - Step 3 for 4 times
Step 5: After 4 cycles of pomodoro you should take a 15-30 minute break
You might think that multitasking gets work done faster, but it actually makes it harder to do work. It increases stress levels and you can lose focus easily. You might miss an important step on an assignment. It could result into a lower quality paper. It gets hard to focus on multiple subjects and the information from each subject gets jumbled together.
Taking breaks are really helpful when studying. If you take a 10 minute break every hour, it'll help you reset your brain. When you're stressed it's not good to keep working on what's stressing you out. So taking a step back is a handy method.
A messy desk can be very distracting when studying. It can be faster to study if you have a clean desk. Example: p.o.v you need to find a highlighter but you can't find it because your desk is untidy. Having a place to put your textbooks/folders or a pencil holder are ways to start getting your desk nice and neat. So if you are having trouble studying and you have a disorganized desk, go ahead a take a few minutes and clean it!
There's something called "spaced repetition", which means space out learning/practice of new knowledge. The whole point of this method is to remember things for a longer period of time or to study for a smaller amount of time. A way you can apply this to your studying habits are using the following apps: Anki, Tiny Cards, Memrise, and even Quizlet.
