Known to be urinated on and around more than once by at least one homeless guy, geologists hypothesize that many of the classic features on the wall were formed by pee-based erosion over the past 3000 years. Home to corners, aretes, cracks, and softer, less overgrown grass. Avoid stepping in the large holes in the concrete retaining wall.
Getting there:
From the east / Nagle St., walk through the alley or go around the west side of the silos. This is the long, west-facing wall that leads to the bayou.
Description: Another crack-ish problem, but sketchier. Stand on the retention wall with hands in the (roughly eye level) thin slots. Follow the crack straight up to top out. Most falls will be on the edge of the retention wall, so take care.
Location: Downhill part of Piss Wall, where the retention wall meets.
Description: A Silos mega-classic (if those exist here) waiting to be sent! Start on the sharp, painted pipe hole just above the random dirt pile. Flow through surprisingly nice pockets and edges to a decision point at the top: delicate moves through a mediocre pocket, or a committing huck to the lip. Missing is not advised.
Location: Middle of Piss Wall, next to the big pile of dirt.
Getting ready to punt
Description: Take the face on shitty pebbles embedded in the wall.
Location: Mid-wall, between the dirt pile and the right corner.
Description: Diabolically slippery walls surround this butt-ugly corner crack. It is said that Yosemite hardmen of ancient times would make the pilgrimage to this spot to train for the Teflon Corner. Start standing with hands on a sausage-esque protuberance. A decent undercling and a shallow side-crimp slot will set you up for a battle through a sharp and blocked seam before easing up in the second half. Probably super easy if your fingers are shaped like toothpicks.
Location: Dihedral-like corner, close to the right end of the wall.
Description: One of the more enjoyable and easy problems that feels almost like rock (aside from all the rebar). Sit start at the bottom of the arete with left hand on sidepull jug and right in a pocket. Go up the arete to top out. In the spirit of purity, don’t grab the rebar… unless you really wanna test out your Tdap shot.
Location: Rightmost end of Piss Wall, leftmost end of the alley.
